MAS CAMP EDITION.
We are coming back with the eighth edition of $7 Soca Session, but this time we’re at High Tide DTLA — the iconic indoor/outdoor venue in the city — with the Mas Camp edition as we get our costumes ready for Carnival Tabanca.
What is a Mas Camp?
“Mas camps" (short for masquerader camps) are multi-purpose community spaces where participants of Caribbean carnivals come together to connect, design, create, and prepare their costumes for the road. These camps are where the spirit of Caribbean creativity and entrepreneurship thrives. The Mas Camp is where the artisan & designer community connects with the every day masquerader community; it’s where the magic of mas happens when minds, hands and spirit convene with the collective goal of self-expression. Mas Camps are essential to the carnival experience, fostering a deep sense of collaboration among participants.
And that’s why we are dedicating this month’s $7 Soca Session space to the beautiful, creative, and collaborative experience that is making Mas for Carnival Tabanca.
