Once again, we are converting another warehouse into the kind of block party session that you thought could only be found in the streets of Lagos, Kingston, Port of Spain or Belize City.
But it’s 2020/20henny/20plenty, so we have to block up the road with real reinforcements for the first ROADBLOCK™ of the year. That’s why we are joining forces with the Brooklyn-Grenadian artist Alvaro Barrington’s London Mainstay event called The Rally.
To make this even more of a moment, we are celebrating 5 years of the indispensable, the inimitable, the indelible art resource that is Curate LA by granting FREE ENTRY TO ALL CURATE LA MEMBERS. (Not a member? Don’t trip; become a member for $5 here.)
Don’t forget: this is an Afro/Caribbean operation, so get your zanku, your pilolo, your palance and your genna bounce in order because we only allowing Dancehall, Soca, and Afrobeat to pass.

As a curator, Shacia has established fresh, new club-bound institutions that not only champion Jamaican music and culture, but also uplift a sisterhood in music that does the diaspora justice. As a DJ, she's the go-to artist if you want a loud, deep and sexy selection of dancehall that takes you from resurrecting your jerry springer to droppin into full genna bounce. FOREIGNER 🇹🇹 alias d smol wine emancipator aias louverture nice child alias tourist yute alias zesser tourism, I am married to the artform that is finding the best, most fun ways to properly contextualize Afrodiasporic music and dance in LA. On Saturday Feb 15, I'm delivering my sound packaged in the usual inclusive, accessible, high energy space that we all enjoy. This time around, though, I'm trying a few different things: (1) I'm designing the space to center dancers (no innocent bystanders will be tolerated), and (2) I'm rigging up a half-dozen classic BMW's to set the mood and light up the dancefloor. I hope you can make it out because I gotta kick of 20henny in the maddest way possible!
